AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2013 ANNUAL BUDGET KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NUMBER O-EN-049-2012 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING TWO (2) FIREFIGHTERS AND FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY FOR THE CONTINUITY OF SERVICES IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Jonesboro City Council adopted the 2013 annual budget, ordinance Number O-EN-049-2012; AND
WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Finance committee, to ensure sufficient staffing in the Fire Department, that two (2) Firefighter positions be added at grade 111 and appropriate $30,000.00 from the General Fund to the Fire Department for such positions;
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION ONE: The two (2) firefighter positions shall be added to the 2013 annual budget; and
SECTION TWO: That $30,000.00 is appropriated for such positions from the General Fund to the Fire Department;
SECTION THREE: It is further found and declared that and emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the sufficient staffing in the Fire Department and shall take effect from and after its approval.
