A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE JONESBORO HEALTH ACCELERATOR PLAN FOR THE JONESBORO PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro AR was awarded $125,000 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), FY2022 Closing the Gap with Social Determinants of Health Accelerator Plans Program; and,
WHEREAS, the grant deliverable is to create and adopt a Social Determinants of Health Accelerator Plan to improve ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) amenities and facilities in Jonesboro parks; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro entered into an agreement with Halff Associates to provide professional services for the Jonesboro Health Accelerator Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Health Accelerator Plan identifies park conditions, ADA and walkshed projects, public needs, targeted investment, two accelerator parks, diverse programs, goals for adaptive and inclusive play and more.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS;
Section 1: The City Council for the City of Jonesboro does hereby adopt the Jonesboro Health Accelerator Plan.
