AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No.  954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (RZ91-13) by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Industrial (I-2) to Residential (R-1) the following described property: (Phillis Brown/ Brown’s Gulley Road Addition)

 

Part of the west half of the SE 1/4 , SW 1/4 of Section 21, T14N, R5E, more particularly described a follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of the SE 1/4, SW 1/4 of said Section 21, thence South 275 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 233 feet; thence East 183 feet; thence North 233 feet; thence West 183 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 1 acre, more or less, being subject to a 42 feet street right-of-way along the west side thereof.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of June, 1991.
