AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1445, AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, SETTING OUT THE DUTIES; PROVIDING FOR SALARIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PRUPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: Section 12 of Ordinance No. 1445 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby amended and the same shall read as follows:

 

The annual compensation of the Director of the Department of Finance and Administration shall be established by the City Council.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the present maximum salary for the Director of the Department of Finance and Administration is not adequate to compensate the Director of the Department of Finance and Administration and that in order to retrain competent personnel as the Director for the Department of Finance and Administration, the maximum salary needs to be increased and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of December, 1976.
