CITY COUNCIL AGENDA - October 2, 1995

1. Call to order by Mayor at 7:30 p.m.

2. Roll call by Clerk

3. Approval of minutes from September 18, 1995, as mailed.

· The Honorable Demetra Barton, first woman to serve as an elected member to the Jonesboro City Council, requests an introduction to present city council members, and will orate of changes since her term in public service. The former Councilwoman Barton will be 100 years young, November 27, 1995.

4. City Attorney:

(A) 3rd reading - Ordinance rezoning properties from Residential One to Commercial Three, located at the corner of Stadium Boulevard and Planters Drive. (Mary Willett\Skip Mooney, Sr.)

(B) 3rd reading - Ordinance rezoning property from Residential One to Commercial Three, located on the west side of Highway 63 Bypass, south of Washington Avenue and north of Strawfloor Drive. (17.07 Acres) (Brown Lacy)

(C) 3rd reading - Ordinance rezoning property from Residential One to Commercial Three, located on the west side of Highway 63 Bypass, south of Washington Avenue and north of Strawfloor Drive. (11.72 Acres) (Brown Lacy)

(D) 1st reading - Ordinance to waive competitive bidding on a Hydraulic Rescue Tool System for the Fire Department.

5. Review the following appointments and reappointments as requested by the Jonesboro Urban Renewal & Housing Authority:

· Reappoint Pat Hagen to the Board of Directors with a term to expire October, 2000.

· Appoint Elizabeth Stafford to the Board of Directors, replacing Aden Johnson whose term expires October, 1997.

6. Set a public hearing for the purpose of vacating a twenty foot utility easement, located off Highway 49 on Hudson Drive. (Ben Flynn)

7. Review the following millage resolutions:

a) Fire Pension Fund
b) Police Pension Fund
c) Public Library
d) City Millage
