AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASE OF DUMPSTERS

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: The City Council finds and declares that there is a need to purchase 33 dumpsters for use by the Sanitation Department immediately.

Section 2: Said dumpsters may be purchased from J.T. Barr of Jonesboro, Arkansas for the sum of $2,500.00. The City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase the above items.

Section 3: The City Council finds and declares that the immediate purchase of the above described items is necessary for the health and welfare of the citizens of Jonesboro, Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and the City Council hereby waives the usual bidding requirements and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
