A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID ENHANCEMENT MONIES IN 2002

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas understands Federal-aid Surface Transportation Enhancement funds are available at 80% federal participation and 20% local cash match for the following projects - Jonesboro Downtown Enhancements Phase I and Phase II projects.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION I:  The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of these projects.

SECTION II:  The Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated improvements.

SECTION III:  The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement these projects.

THIS RESOLUTION adopted this 4^th day of February, 2002.
