CITY COUNCIL MINUTES FOR JULY 1, 2002

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, July 1, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: Mayor Hubert Brodell, City Attorney, Phillip Crego, City Clerk, Donna K. Jackson, and twelve council members. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Rega, Province, Moore Young, Perrin, Copeland, and Roddy.

Councilman Roddy moved, seconded by Councilman Moore to approve the minutes of June 17, 2002, as previously delivered. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Rega, Province, Moore Young, Perrin, Copeland, and Roddy.

Councilman Kelton moved, seconded by Councilman Moore for the adoption of a resolution directing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute MATA contracts and Right of Way Agreements for the following:

•Harold and William Dickens, 1600 West Nettleton, Parcel 72
•Harold and Sally Dickens 1606 West Nettleton, Parcel 73
•Marvin and Wanda Cliff, 1322 West Nettleton, Parcel 57
•Rosalee Martin, 1110 West Nettleton, Parcel 62

A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Rega, Province, Moore Young, Perrin, Copeland, and Roddy. The resolution was assigned resolution number 2002:29.

Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Crockett for the reappointment of Carla Carson and Bill Roddy to the Solid Waste Disposal Authority with an expiration date of August, 2005. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Rega, Province, Moore Young, Perrin, Copeland, and Roddy.

Under new business, Councilman Young moved, seconded by Councilman Rega to transfer the non-uniform pension plan from Regions Bank to Principal Financial Group out of Memphis. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. ...
