RESOLUTION TO INSTALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AT THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 63 AND HIGHWAY 18 AND CARAWAY ROAD AND HIGHWAY 18

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
WHEREAS, the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 18 and the intersection of Caraway Road and Highway 18 in the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas are highly congested intersections which have become dangerous due to the heavy traffic flow across and through these intersections of both automobile and truck traffic; and,
WHEREAS, numerous accidents have occurred at these intersections involving damage to property and personal injury; and said intersections carry heavy traffic on journeys through the City of Jonesboro; and,
WHEREAS, proper regulation and control of the vehicular traffic at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 18 and the intersection of Caraway Road and Highway 18 requires the immediate installation of proper traffic regulating controls.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the Arkansas State Highway Department, City Water and Light Plant of Jonesboro, and the Federal Bureau of Roads contract and agree to take immediate action for the installation of traffic control devices at the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 18 and the intersection of Caraway Road and Highway 18.
