AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY OF JONESBORO 2005 ANNUAL BUDGET BY THE CREATION OF THREE ADDITIONAL DRIVER POSITIONS FOR THE JONESBORO FIRE DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is a need to create three additional Driver positions for the Jonesboro Fire Department to provide a Company Officer position for every front line fire truck within the Department; and

WHEREAS, the additional positions will be filled with existing Department personnel and therefore no new personnel would be required to be hired; and

WHEREAS, the additional cost of the Drivers would be partially offset by a reduction of overtime within the Department

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:    

SECTION 1: The 2005 annual budget of the City of Jonesboro is amended by the addition of three Driver positions for the Jonesboro Fire Department.

SECTION 2: The 2005 annual budget of the City of Jonesboro is amended by the appropriation of $ 11,105.73 in additional funding for the Driver positions.
