AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Commercial Three to Commercial Four the following described property:

 

A part of Section 31, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, to wit:  beginning at a point, said point being the Northeast Corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 31, thence S 73º16'30" W, a distance of 219.10 feet to a point; thence S 89º4'00" W, a distance of 299.30 feet to a point; thence S 89º44'00" W, a distance of 135.01 feet to a point; said point being the point of beginning; thence S 00º05'56" E, a distance of 1668.85 feet to a point; thence 89º36'30" W, a distance of 100.00 feet to a point; thence N 00º06'00" W, a distance of 167.70 feet to a point; thence N 89º44'00" E, a distance of 100.00 feet to a point; said point being the point of beginning, said tract containing 0.39 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
