RESOLUTION NAMING OF APPLE DRIVE AND HESTER STREET

WHEREAS, certain streets have been laid out lying West of Gee Street in the City of Jonesboro which have never been named, and;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to the citizens and residents of said streets and the Fire Department of said City that such streets be identified by name, and;
WHEREAS, such responsibility is placed upon the fire chief, and; whereas, the Fire Chief has duly platted said streets, assigned a name thereto, and assigned a number to the houses located upon such streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it Resolved, by the City Council setting in regular assembled session this February 18, 1957, that the street shown on the plat attached hereto which runs in a southwesterly direction from Gee St. be and is hereby named “Hester” Street; said street intersecting with the West boundary of Gee Street at a point midway between Matthews Avenue and Warner Avenue;
That the street running East and West intersection and traversing Hester Street be designated as “Apple Drive”, as shown on the attached plat; said Apple Drive being the first street West of Gee Street which intersects with Hester.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the specific intention of this resolution is for the sole purpose of naming said streets for identification purposes only, and does not in any way constitute and acceptance of said streets into the City street system.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of February, 1957.
