RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE AND ABANDON AN UNIMPROVED STREET RIGHT OF WAY FOR UNION STREET

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a Petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas requesting that the unimproved street right of way for Union Street, from a point 258.70 feet north of the north right of way line of Burke Avenue to a point 410.06 feet north of the north right of way line of Burke Avenue be vacated and abandoned; AND
 
WHEREAS, the Petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; AND
 
WHEREAS, Arkansas Statute Annotated 19-3814 requires two weeks public notice before the above street can be vacated and abandoned;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public of the property owners request to vacate and abandon a portion of Union Street and that this matter will be heard before the City Council on November 15th, 2004 at 6:20 p.m. at City of Jonesboro Council Chambers, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
