SEPTEMBER 8, 1983
The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met Thursday, September 8, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 314 West Washington, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
The meeting was called to order by: Chairman, Roy Cooper.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Cooper, Mr. Ball, Mr. Tilton, Mr. White, Mrs. Barber, Mr. Farmer, Mr. Vance, Mr. Blalock.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Aubrey Scott
Others Present: Mike Cameron, John Broadaway, Linda West.
#1 Park Place Developer, Carroll Caldwell, request preliminary approval of construction plans for Park Place Condominiums, a planned unit development, to be located on Block J of Marlo Acres 7th Addition, which is West of Greenbriar Street and South of Rose Avenue. The development covers 3.9 acres and contains 7.69 single story units per acres for a total of 30 units. The property is zoned R-2.
Mr. Caldwell indicated his development consisted of single detach units mixed with single family and multi family homes. Price ranging around $75,000.00. Units will have private driveways with adequate visibility. Mr. Ball made a motion to approve the request. Seconded by Mr.White. Request was APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
#2 Bob Wood requests preliminary approval of construction plans for a planned unit development to be located on a replat of Fisher Commercial Subdivision which is South of Samantha Avenue and East of Kathleen Street. The development covers 1.24 acres and contains fifteen (15) single story units per acre for a total of eighteen (18) units. The property is zoned R-3.
Mr. Broadaway, indicated that Mr. Wood’s plan had no utility lay-out and that a buffer zone may be considered. Mr. Wood said that the utilities were in the streets. He indicated that there was Commercial to the South and that he did not own the property immediately to the South. The abutting property is owned by Mr. Fisher. Mr. Wood was convinced that...
