AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 14, THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO PERMIT "INDOOR FIRING RANGE" AS A CONDITONAL USE IN THE 1-1 AND I-2 ZONE DISTRICTS

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission held a public hearing on June 17, 2003 concerning a proposal to include "Indoor Firing Range" as a Conditional Use in the I-1, Limited Industrial District and I-2, General Industrial District; and,
 
WHEREAS, all comments, views, suggestions and recommendations made a said public hearing have been considered and addressed by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission voted six members in favor and no members opposed to recommending to the Jonesboro City Council that the Zoning Ordinance be amended to permit this Conditional Use in the zone districts specified above.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
 
That the "Use Table Commercial & Industrial Districts" set out in Section 14.20.02 (c) of the Zoning Ordinance be amended to include "Indoor Firing Range" as a Conditional Use in the I-1, Limited Industrial District and the I-2, General Industrial District.  An indoor firing range must comply with the requirements of Section 7.40.04 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code.
