AN ORDINANCE TO LAY OFF THE WHOLE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, AS NOW ESTABLISHED BY LAW, INTO AN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE DESIGNATED AS LIGHT DISTRICT NO. 2 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FURNISHING ELECTRIC LIGHTS AND PURCHASING OR ACQUIRING AN ELECTRIC LIGHT PLANT AND POWER PLANT WITH POLES AND OTHER APPARATUS FOR FURNISHING THE SAME, NOW THE PROPERTY OF THE JONESBORO WATER & LIGHT COMPANY

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
That the entire City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be and the same is hereby laid off into an Improvement District.
That said Improvement District be and the same is hereby designated at Light District No. 2.
That the said Improvement District be and the same is hereby created and laid off for the purpose of furnishing electric lights to the inhabitants of said City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and to acquire or purchase an electric light and power plant with poles and other apparatus for furnishing the same, now the property of the Jonesboro Water & Light Company, and to maintain and operate the same, said improvement to be general and local.
That the boundaries of said Improvement District be and they are hereby made the same as the boundaries of said City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, as now established by law.
That this Ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its passage and adoption.
Passed and adopted this 19th day of March, 1906.
