RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR GRANTS APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS AND FUNDING

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, applies for receives federal and state grants from time to time; and
WHEREAS, it is important for the City Council and the public to understand the obligations of each individual grant application and the subsequent obligations of the city in the event that the grant is awarded to the City; and
WHEREAS, confusion has occurred in the past because sufficient information was not included in resolutions concerning grant applications and contracts under consideration by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS, THAT:
All resolutions pertaining to grant applications, contracts or funding presented to the City Council for consideration shall:
1. Be reviewed and approved by the City Attorney before consideration by the City Council as required by City Ordinance 2313; and
2. Contain the name of the grant agency; the total amount of the grant project; a brief description of the type of grant and the project; the match breakdown, if applicable; and the city's financial obligation, if applicable; and
3. Identify the location of the funding in the City's budget, if applicable.
