A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF FIRE CHIEF WITHIN THE CITY’S CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, has amended the City’s Classification and Compensation Plan to rename the position of Fire Chief to read Assistant Fire Chief under; and

WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated Section 14-42-110 states that Mayors in cities of first class shall have the power to appoint and remove all department heads; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to establish the position of Fire Chief within the City’s Classification and Compensation Plan.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS, THAT:

The position of Fire Chief is established within the City’s Classification and Compensation Plan.
