CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - MAY 18, 1992

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session a 7:30 p.m. Present were the City Clerk, City Attorney, and all the Alderman with the exception of Mr. Evans and Mr. Province who were unable to attend. Mr. Hinson, Vice Mayor, presided over the meeting in the absence of Mayor Brodell, who was away on official business.

The minutes of May 4, 1992, were approved as mailed by motion of Mr. Stricklin, seconded by Mr. Shelton. All voted aye.

Mr. Stricklin offered the following ordinance for the first reading:

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO CITY WATER & LIGHT FOR MATERIALS USED IN WIRING THE SOUTHSIDE SOFTBALL COMPLEX WITH ELECTRICAL LIGHTING.

Mr. Stricklin moved, seconded by Mr. Hannah to suspend the rules and place on second reading. All voted aye. Mr. Stricklin moved, seconded by Mr. Hannah to further suspend the rules and place on the third and final reading. All voted aye. Mr. Stricklin moved, seconded by Mr. Mays for the adoption of the ordinance with the emergency clause. All voted aye. The ordinance was given the number 2399.

Mr. Shelton offered the following ordinance for the first reading:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE OF ZONING BOUNDARIES.

Mr. Nix moved, seconded by Mr. Wise to suspend the rules and place on the second reading. All voted aye. Mr. Sanderson moved seconded by Mr. Mays to further suspend the rules and place on the third and final reading. All voted aye. Mr. Sanderson moved, seconded by Mr. Nix to adopt the ordinance with the emergency clause. All voted aye. The ordinance was given the number 2400.

Mr. Hannah offered the following ordinance for the first reading

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE O F ZONING BOUNDARIES.
