CITY COUNCIL AGENDA - September 5, 1995

1. Call to order by Mayor at 7:30 p.m.

2. Roll call by Clerk

3. Approval of minutes from August 21, 1995, as mailed.

4. City Attorney:

(A) 3rd reading - Ordinance to rezone Lots 1 and 2, Block B of the Apple Hills Subdivision from Residential One to Industrial One, and Lots 3, 4 and 5, Block B of the Apple Hills Subdivision from Residential One to Commercial Three, both located at the east side of Warren Street between Jonathan Street and Daybreak Drive. (B) 3rd reading - Ordinance to repeal Ordinance No. 2630 doing away with Residential Three zoning, and returning to Residential One zoning. The location is south of Race Street between Briar Lane and Middle Field Drive. (Mack Fleming\Skip Mooney Sr.)

(C) 1st reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential Two to Commercial Five, located on the north side of Matthews Ave., east of Fisher Street. (Mark Keller\Terry Bare)

(D) 1st reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential One to Residential Two, located on the northeast corner of Nettleton & Kitchen streets. (Haydn Cooksey\Miller Newell)

(E) 1st reading - Ordinance to repeal Ordinance No. 2543, returning two-hour parking to the newly annexed Craighead County Court House.

5. Resolution requesting free utility service from City Water and Light at the intersection of Church and Monroe across from "The Forum". This is for an "Adopt an Intersection" program sponsored by Phyllis Lamberth in memory of Ben J. Lamberth.

6. Resolution recommending that bids be obtained, and the adjoining parking lot be included, but with stipulations. The minimum bid will be set at $265,000.00, based on a 1989 appraisal, and recent comparable sales of similar properties within Jonesboro.

7. Resolution to establish a voluntary employee payroll deduction policy for the purpose of providing donations to United Way.
