RESOLUTION CONVEYING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY ON JACKSON STREET TO CRAIGHEAD INVESTMENT CORPORATION FOR A DRIVE-THRU BANK

WHEREAS, Craighead Investment Corporation, owner of the property at the corner of Jackson and Church, proposes to construct a drive-in bank facility at that location, and

 

WHEREAS, it is to the advantage of the City sufficient space be allowed on the Jackson Street side of said structure to improve the flow of vehicular traffic, and such can be accomplished best by the City granting to said owner its portion of the east-west alley on the north side of said property, which alley has heretofore been closed by action of the Council,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council, that the City execute a deed to Craighead Investment Corporation or their assigns, conveying the City’s portion of the 120 feet of said alley which has been abandoned, which conveyance will be of a strip of land five (5) feet north and south by 120 feet east and west.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of April, 1961.
