AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #2035 TO REQUIRE RIGID OUTSIDE CONTAINERS MADE OF CONCRETE, METAL OR FIBERGLASS FOR ALL BURIALS IN CITY OF JONESBORO CEMETERIES

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro owns and maintains City Cemetery, Oaklawn Cemetery, Nettleton Cemetery, and Knight of Pythias Cemetery.

WHEREAS, increased costs of operation and personnel warrant the requirement of rigid outside containers in all City operated cemeteries;

WHEREAS, rigid outside containers shall be made of concrete, metal or fiberglass;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:       

SECTION 1: Ordinance #2035 is herewith amended to require rigid outside containers made of concrete, metal or fiberglass for all burials in City of Jonesboro cemeteries.

PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 5^TH day of April, 2005.
