AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2193; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, Ordinance 2193 was adopted by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, on July 17, 1989, and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance rezoned certain lands described therein as R-3; and
WHEREAS, said zoning classification was incorrect and should have been R-2.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AN ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That Section 1of Ordinance 2193 be and is hereby amended to read “From Commercial (C-3) to Residential (R-2) for property described as follows: Lot 42 of Wilson’s 2nd addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas, also known as the West one-half of 1437 West Huntington”. SECTION 2: It is hereby found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that there is not an extreme urgency that Ordinance 2193 be amended as stated above thereby correcting the zoning classification to R-2. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage.
