A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A NEW FLOODPLAIN ADMINISTRATOR

Body

WHEREAS, The City of Jonesboro is a municipal government in the State of Arkansas, and;

WHEREAS The City of Jonesboro participates in the National Flood Insurance Program and The National Flood Insurance Program(NFIP) requires communities to maintain a minimum level of floodplain management ordinances for its residents to be eligible to purchase flood insurance

WHEREAS To encourage communities to exceed these minimum requirements, the NFIP established the Community Rating Systems (CRS).  In exchange for increasing flood preparedness and achieving a CRS ratings, the community's residents are offered discounted flood insurance premium rates.

WHEREAS The City of Jonesboro wishes to comply with the NFIP and improve our CRS scores by appointing a Floodplain Administrator.

NOW THEREFORE: be it hereby resolved by the City Council of Jonesboro Arkansas that Chief Engineer of the City of Jonesboro is hereby appointed as Floodplain Administrator effective November 8, 2007.

THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO THIS 15^th DAY OF JANUARY, 2008.
