A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AGREEMENTS WITH VARIOUS ENGINEERS UNDER PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR VARIOUS DRAINAGE PROJECTS.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to address eleven drainage locations that have been identified as "hot spots" within the city limits of Jonesboro; and

WHEREAS, the Administration and staff have negotiated with drainage engineers listed in the City's "Request For Qualifications" and have followed the State Professional Services guidelines and are recommending their selection.  

Now therefore be it resolved by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

1.      The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the following drainage engineers for the following drainage projects:  

Project      Engineer      Amount

Farm Creek Detention      Miller-Newell      $4,000

(Preliminary Engineers)      Engineers Inc.

2.      The funding for the execution of the contracts shall come from the account 07-100-02-50-00 compensation shall be provided upon completion of the projects on or before September 5, 2006.
