A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR HIS DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR A FEMA GRANT FOR PHASE II OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO COMPREHESIVE DRAINAGE PLAN

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, has enlisted the services of Carter-Burgess, a professional engineering firm, to develop a Comprehensive Drainage Plan in two phases; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro was notified last week of the opportunity to receive approximately $200,000.00 in grant funds from the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) for continued drainage planning; and

WHEREAS, the deadline for the said FEMA grant application is August 13, 2004.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS, THAT:

The Mayor or his designee may execute a FEMA grant application for continued drainage planning after review and approval by the City Attorney and the Public Works Director.
