January 11, 1975
The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, January 11, 1975 in the Court Room at City Hall.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. A.E. Scott, Jr.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott, Morrison, Adams, Cooper, Matthews, Smith, Wheeless, Roddy, and McDaniel.
MEMBERS ABSENT: None.
OTHERS PRESENT: Mr. Larry Fugate and Mr. Joe Tomlinson.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Tommy Rankin requests final approval of a replat of a part of Lot 3 of Cobb and Lee Survey of the Northwest Quarter of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4 East. This property is located on the east side of Caraway Road between Stallings Lane and East Matthews. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Adams to APPROVE the request subject to soil stabilization being maintained on the south property line. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #2. Chairman A.E. Scott, Jr. presented a letter received from the Parks and Recreation Department for discussion. The topic of the letter concerned the reservation of public park lands. After a discussion was held concerning the proposal contained in the letter, it was decided to appoint Ralph Morrison, Roy Cooper, and Jim McDaniel as committee to meet with the Parks Commission to discuss the proposal and report their findings back to the MAPC at a later date.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
