AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of Zoning District Boundaries as follows:
1. From residential (R-3) to Commercial (C-3) of an area described as part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, move particularly described as follows: Commence at a point 330 feet West of the Southeast Corner of the Northwest Quarter of Section 21 aforesaid, thence South 234.8 feet, thence West 130 feet, thence South 234.8 feet, thence East 130 feet to the point of beginning, said property fronting on the North side of Nettleton Avenue East of Pardew Street.
2. From Residential (R-2) to Residential (R-3) of Lots One through 18 inclusive, Lots 19 through 22 inclusive, Lots 42 through 45 inclusive, and Lots 58 through 62 inclusive, of Kiech First Addition to the Town of Nettleton, now City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, said property fronting on East Main Street in Nettleton Ward on the Northeast side thereof from Willow Road to Manila Street and on the Southwest side thereof from Boydstun Street to Manila Street.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
