AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2461 WHICH CREATED PERMANENT MATA PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEES

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, has determined that the need for permanent MATA Planning and Implementation Committees no longer exists due to the creation of a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and a Traffic Control Review Committee.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:    

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby repeals Ordinance No. 2461 which created permanent MATA Planning and Implementation Committees.

SECTION 2: Due to confusion resulting in delays in the placement of traffic control signage, signals or other devices, an emergency is declared and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
