AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A 2007 CHEVROLET DUMP TRUCK FROM STONEBRIDGE CONSTRUCTION.

WHEREAS, The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase a Chevrolet Dump Truck; and

 

WHEREAS, that said equipment may be purchased from Stonebridge Construction of Jonesboro, Arkansas for the sum of $24,000.00 to be paid from the Parks Department budget; and

 

WHEREAS, said equipment may be purchased used with thirty four thousand (34,000) miles.

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

 

SECTION ONE:  That the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby authorized to purchase a 2007 Chevrolet Dump Truck w/34,000 miles, VIN 1GBJK34K57E548962 from Stonebridge Construction for $24,000.00.

 

SECTION TWO: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order for the above described for the price set forth in Section One above.

 

SECTION THREE: It is further found that due to immediate need to acquire this equipment an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

SECTION FOUR: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into this contract and to execute all documents necessary.
