AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 824 SAME BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE GAS CODE FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 824 is amended as follows to include the following:
There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro. Arkansas, for the purpose of the practical safe-guarding of persons and of buildings and their contents from hazards arising from the use of gas for light, heat, power, air conditioning and for other purposes that certain gas code known as the Southern Standard Gas Code, being particularly the 1973 edition thereof, of which not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in the office of the clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this section shall take effect the provisions thereof shall be controlling on all gas equipment, etc., installed and contained within the corporate limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 2: All Ordinances and/or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
