AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR NO PARKING ON FROLIC STREET AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

Section 1: From and after passage and adoption of this Ordinance, Frolic Drive as set forth herein shall be designated as a “No Parking” area to-wit:

 

No parking on both sides of Frolic Drive from Fisher Street to Patrick Street.

 

Section 2: The Chief of Police or some other person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above described streets at the proper places, appropriate signs reading, “NO PARKING” and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to tear down or mutilate such signs or to park vehicles in this No Parking area.

 

Section 3: Every person convicted of a violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $25.00.

 

Section 4: All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

 

Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, that the increasing amount of traffic congestion and the lack of traffic control devices have caused danger to life and property, and that this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of March, 1976.
