AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES FROM R-1 TO C-3 LOCATED ON APACHE DRIVE ACROSS FROM METHODIST HOSPITAL AS REQUESTED BY MABE SPURLOCK, ATTORNEY SKIP MOONEY

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:  

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of property described as follows: Apache Dr. across from Methodist Hospital (Mabe Spurlock) Skip Mooney.

 

A past of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 28, Township 14 North, Range 4 East  being particularly described as follows: Commencing at the North east Corner of said  Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter and run West along the North line thereof 40 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue West along the 40 acre line 447.1 feet; thence South 0°42' West 335.8 feet; thence North 89°52' East to the West right-of-way line of Middlefield Drive; thence North along said West line 255.4 feet; thence West 40 feet; thence North 80 feet to the point of Beginning proper, subject to easements along the North and South sides, all located in Craighead, Arkansas.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of May, 1988.
