CITY COUNCIL AGENDA - AUGUST 4, 1997
1. Call to order by Mayor at 6:30 p.m.
2. Roll call by Clerk
3. Approval of minutes from July 21, 1997, as provided.
4. City Attorney:
(A) 3RD reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-4), located south of Race Street and East of Middlefield. (Cleo White & Associates)
(B) 3RD reading - Ordinance to rezone property from Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3), located south of Cate Street and east of Vandyne Street. (Joe Carrier)
5. Resolution authorizing the Mayor to make application through the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, to the National Park Service, U. S. Department of Interior for assistance to develop recreational facilities for the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
6. Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to sell certain real property in the Industrial Mini Park, accepting the sum of $10,000.00 per acre on each lot and $1,000.00 earnest money.
7. Resolution to appropriate $165,000.00 from unappropriated sales tax to Jonesboro Industrial Development Commission for reimbursement for the railroad right of way for rail spur to the Industrial Park for Frito Lay Project and other industries.
8. Review of the following appointment:
· Bill Waldrip to replace Bob Miller on the Civil Service Commission with an expiration date of April 1, 1999.
9. New Business by the Mayor.

· Sufficiency of Petitions opposing Ordinance No. 2787
