A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 519 WEST WASHINGTON

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has leased the professional office property and parking, located at 519 W. Washington, adjacent to City Hall; and

WHEREAS, the original lease agreement states under (Item 2 -Term) "Further, Lessee shall have the option to renew the said lease for an additional term of one (1) year upon the expiration of this lease agreement with terms consistent with this agreement."; and

WHEREAS, the attached addendum allows an additional one year option to renew at a reduced rate, and

WHEREAS, the, Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Department of Community Development continue to have within their scope of budgetary discretion, the necessary appropriations to cover such lease provisions;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

Section 1:  The City Council agrees to exercise the one year option to renew as per the addendum and original terms and conditions of lease attached as exhibit "A".

Section 2:  The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
