ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE A CERTAIN TECHNICAL CODE ENTITLED, THE 2002 EDITION OF THE ARKANSAS FIRE PREVENTION CODE, APPENDIX CHAPTERS “D” (FIRE DISTRICTS) AND APPENDIX “E” (SUPPLEMENTARY ACCESSIBILITY REQUIRMENTS) KNOWN AS THE BUILDING CODE; REPEALING ORDINANCE 1692 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH

WHEREAS, pursuant to ACA 14-55-207, public notice was given of the City’s intent to adopt said technical code by reference, and advised that three (3) copies of the document were on file and available for public review and examination in the Office of the City Clerk; and

 

WHEREAS, all comments, views, suggestions and recommendations have been considered and addressed by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission at a public hearing held April 22, 2003.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No.1692 adopting the Southern Standard Housing Code is hereby repealed.

 

SECTION 2: The following Section are hereby revised:

Section 101.1

Section 1612.3

Section 1612.3

Section 3409.2

 

SECTION 3: That the document entitled, the 2002 edition of the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, appendix Chapters “D” (fire districts) and appendix “E” (supplementary accessibility requirements); is hereby adopted by reference, and shall become the City of Jonesboro Building Code.

 

SECTION 4: That nothing in this ordinance or in the Building Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding or existing, under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in Section 2 of this ordinance; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired of affected by this ordinance.
