AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 849 CREATING THE OFFICE OF PLUMBING INSPECTOR; GOVERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION OF PLUMBING; AND OTHER PURPOSES (NOTE: THIS ORDINANCE WAS AMENDED BY ORD-75:2274 ON MARCH 3, 1975)

BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: Section 4 of Ordinance No. 849 shall be amended by the addition of subsection "c" as follows: c. the person installing plumbing shall be required to notify the City Plumbing Inspector when the job is ready for final inspection, and if approved, a Final Plumbing Inspection Certificate shall be issued. Permanent water service to the premises shall not be authorized until such Final Plumbing Inspection Certificate is exhibited to the appropriate utility.
Section 2: It is found and determined by the City Council that the present plumbing ordinances do not specify the procedure for obtaining a Final Plumbing Inspection Certificate and therefore the Plumbing Inspector has no means to which to determine when an installation is ready for final plumbing inspection, and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
