ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF AN ALLEY IN BLOCK 8 OF MEYERS ADDITION

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, A petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, 5th day of September, 1961 asking the Jonesboro City Council to vacate and abandon a portion of an alley between the East Half and the West Half of Block #8 of the Meyers Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas as shown by the attached Plat of same appears in Deed Record 48, Page 116 in the office of Circuit Clerk at Jonesboro, Arkansas described as follows, to-wit:
A portion of an alley running North and South through the middle of Block #8 of the Meyers Addition of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, more particular described as follows; Beginning at the S.E. Corner of Lot #3, of said block thence East 15 feet to the S.W. Corner of Lot #4, thence North 162 ½ feet to the N.W. Corner of Lot #7, thence West to the North East Corner of Lot #9, thence South 162 ½ feet to the S.E. Corner of Lot #3, which is the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and ascertained that the alley hereinabove described heretofore been dedicated to the public use as an alley; has not been actually used by the public for a period of more than five years prior to the filing of the petition for abandonment; and all owners of property abutting the alley to be vacated have filed with the City Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such alley:
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
