Title

AN ORDINANCE TO GIVE A STEP RAISE TO THE YOUTH SPORTS COORDINATOR

Body

WHEREAS, the youth sports coordinator job duties have increased with increased participation in youth sports programs and the assignment of the administration of the 5^th and 6^th grade tackle football program; and

WHEREAS, a step increase is justified for increased duties; and

WHEREAS, the youth sports coordinator position is currently a grade 14, step 3 at $31,380.72. 

WHEREAS, it is requested to increase the youth sports coordinator position to a grade 14, step 7 at $34,638.45;

WHEREAS, the salary increase shall come from the “Salaries” line item (05-100-201-00) in the 2007 budget;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

Section 1: The youth sports coordinator position shall be increased to step 7 with the annual salary of $34,638.45;

SECTION 2: There are sufficient funds in the budget and no additional money will need to be appropriated.

SECTION 3: Due to the immediate need to facilitate efficient operations of the Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
