AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS AS NO PARKING ZONES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Section 1: From and after passage and adoption of this Ordinance, portions of certain streets shall be designated as “No Parking Zones”.
“No Parking” on the North side of Aggie Road between the West right-of-way of Howard Street to the West right-of-way of Leggett.
“No Parking” on the North and South side of Hickory Street.
“No Parking” on the North and South side of Center Street.
“No Parking” on the North and South Side of Pecan Street.
“No Parking” on Spruce Street from Highway 141 East to Warren Street.
Section 2: The Chief of Police or some other person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above described street at the proper place, appropriate signs reading “NO PARKING” and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to tear down or mutilate such signs.
Section 3: Every person convicted to a violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $25.00.
Section 4: All Ordinances and/or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council that the increasing amount of traffic congestion and lack of traffic control devices have caused danger to life and property and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and adoption.
