APPEAL HEARING - 6:15 P.M. - An appeal hearing was conducted as requested by Winston and Paulette Quinn, regarding denial by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission to rezone property from Agricultural AG-1 and Residential R-1 to Commercial C-3 and Industrial I-1, located at 6106 Southwest Drive. No opposition was voiced.

CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - October 2, 2000

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, October 2, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: City Clerk Donna Jackson, City Attorney Phillip Crego, and 12 council members. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Rega, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin and Roddy. Councilman Rega presided over the meeting in the absence of Mayor Brodell, who was away on city business.

Councilman Moore moved, seconded by Councilman Perrin to approve the minutes, from September 18, 2000 as provided earlier. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Rega, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin and Roddy.

Councilman Tate offered the following ordinance for first reading:

ORDINANCE TO REZONE PROPERTY FROM RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO COMMERCIAL (C-3), LOCATED AT 2308 PARKER ROAD. (Ms. Peters, Realtor)

Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Perrin to suspend the rules and place on second reading. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members voting aye were: Kelton, Tate, McCall, Young, Crockett, Rorex, Rega, Province, Copeland, Moore, Perrin and Roddy. Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Crockett to further suspend the rules and place on third and final reading. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye.
