The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas met in regular session in City Hall, Monday night, November 1, 1965, at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Sammons, Griffin, Wilson, Bridger, Darling, Stallings, Keller, Williams, Pardew, Mays, Ledbetter and Snow. Absent: City Attorney.

The City Clerk administered the oath of office as 4th Ward Alderman to Mr. Charles Keller, newly appointed Council member.

Mr. Mays offered the following ordinance for its first reading:

AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY IN THE 6TH WARD.

Mr. Mays moved with Mr. Sammons seconding the motion that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the second reading. Roll was called. All members present voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Mays made the motion, seconded by Mr. Sammons, that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. On the roll call, all present voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Mays then moved with Mr. Sammons seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. All present voted aye on the roll call and the motion carried. Mr. Snow was not present for the roll calls on this ordinance, but was present for the rest of the voting. The ordinance was given the number 1124.

The Mayor appointed to the Real Estate Option Committee to serve along with himself, the following: Ed Stallings, Hershel McCracken, Charles Keller and Athel Williams. Mr. Darling moved with Mr. Pardew seconding the motion that the appointments be approved and accepted. All voted aye on the roll call and the motion carried.

Mr. Mays offered the following ordinance for its first reading:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 4-23 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES PROVIDING FOR THE REDEMPTION OF IMPOUNDED DOG.
