AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the city council of the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 Known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the metropolitan area planning commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) and Residential (R-3) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

A part of the East Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East and Lot 1, Block B, Washington Grove (Plat Cabinet B Page 38), Jonesboro, Arkansas more particularly described as follows:  From the Southeast Corner of said Section 14, run North 00°12'00" West 974.35 feet; then run South 88°19' 37" West 300.00 feet; then run North 00°12'00" West 21.00 feet to the Point of Beginning  and the North Right-of-Way line of Washington Avenue (Jonesboro, Arkansas); then on South 88°50'59" West along said North Right-of-Way line 299.96 feet; then run North 00°12'00" West 935.00 feet; then run North 82°52'57" East 302.12 feet; then run South 00°12'00" East 966.41 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 6.55 acres and being subject to Ivy Lane Right-of-Way (30') as shown hereon.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the city council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
