Nominating and Rules Committee
February 2, 2004
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Alderman McCall. Members present were: Tim McCall, Alec Farmer, Chris Moore and Cecil Province. Others in attendance were City Clerk Donna Jackson, Jason Wilkie, and Parks Director.
Councilman McCall moved, seconded by Councilman Farmer to recommend to the full council, that Councilman Young preside over the council meeting for February 2, 2004 in the absence of Mayor Brodell, and President Pro Temp, Harold Perrin. All voted aye.
Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman McCall to recommend to the full Council, the reappointments of the following individuals to the Parks and Recreation Planning and Advisory Committee: Mike Massengill, Dave Kroeter, and Tina Cook all with an expiration date of January, 2006; and Al Poston with an expiration date of January, 2008. All voted aye.
Brief discussion was held regarding the appointment of Police Chief and Fire Chief. It was explained past AG opinions and the Human Resources Department find that the Mayor as the authority to appoint both the Police Chief and Fire Chief.
Councilman Moore moved, seconded by Councilman Farmer to recommend to the full council a revised resolution pertaining to the property located at 3411 Quail Ridge for a detention pond. It was explained questions had surfaced regarding the funding and the revised resolution stated where the funds would come from. All voted aye.
Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Moore to approve the committee minutes from January 8, 2004. All voted aye.
Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Moore to adjourn. All voted aye.
With no other business the meeting was adjourned.
