MAPC MINUTES
DECEMBER 8, 1977

The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met Thursday, December 8, 1977 at 7:00 P.M. in the Court Room at City Hall.

The meeting called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Ralph Morrison.

Members Present: Morrison, Ball, Tilton, McDaniel, Gott, Morse and Cooper

Members Absent: Smith and Brown

Others Present: Mike Cameron, Larry Fugate, Jimmy Cooper and Brenda Barnes.

Item #1 Gregg Funeral Home request a rezoning from Residential Two (R-2) to Commercial Two (C-2) at the following location. A part of Lot 16 of the Homer Parr Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast Corner of said Lot 16; thence north 89 degrees 16 minutes west 120.0 feet along the south line of said Lot 16; thence north 0 degrees 12 minutes east 189.1 feet; thence south 89 degrees 33 minutes east 120.0 feet; thence south 0 degrees 12 minutes west 189.7 feet to the point of beginning proper containing 22,727 square feet and being subject to 41 feet right-of-way from centerline of Matthews Street. General location of this property is on the North side of Matthews Street and west of the new Gregg Funeral Home. Mr. Mike Gott represented Gregg Funeral Home. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. McDaniel to approve the request subject to a 41’ easement of right-of-way on Matthews Street. REQUEST APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.

Item #2 Daniel Buckley, Kay Buckley, Fred Dacus and Brenda Dacus requests a zoning classification of Residential Two (R-2) for a parcel of Property abutting the present city limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Subject zoning request is submitted under the provisions of City Ordinance #1473 providing for a zoning classification prior to the subject property being annexed to the City.
