BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

SECTION 1. - Section 1 of Ordinance No. 761 as amended by Ordinance No. 831 is hereby amended to read as follows:

Traffic control devices or stop lights are hereby established and placed at the intersections of the following streets and avenues:

Cate and Burke Avenues and South Main Street;

Huntington Avenue and South Main Street;

East and West Washington Avenue and South Main Street;

East and West Cherry Avenue and South Main Street;

Flint Street and West Nettleton Avenue;

East and West Matthews Avenue and South Main Street;

Union Street and West Huntington Avenue;

North Bridge Street and East Johnson Avenue;

East and West Johnson Avenue and North Main Street;

East and West Nettleton Avenue and South Main Street;

East Matthews Avenue and South Church Street;

Cate Avenue and South Bridge Street;

West Huntington Avenue and South Nesbitt Street

SECTION 2. It being found that traffic is congested at the above set out intersections, and that said intersections are dangerous, and that traffic control devices, or traffic lights are needed to relieve said traffic congestion and reduce the danger to motor vehicle drivers, occupants and pedestrians, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and the immediate passage and enforcement of this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after is passage, adoption and publication as required by law.
