AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Be Amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

 

That Part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, and that part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, all in Section 2, Township 13 North, Range 3 East, described as follows: beginning at the Northeast Corner of said Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section, Township and Range, run thence North 89º52' West 50 feet, run thence South 4º33' East 107.2 feet, run thence South 30º57' West 379.2 feet to the true point of beginning, run thence North 62º39' West 200 feet, run thence South 20º28' West 626.8 feet, run thence South 56º43' East 309.4 feet to the West Right Of Way Line of U.S. Highway 49, run thence Northeasterly along said West Right Of Way Line 667 feet, run thence North 62º39' West 297.9 feet to the true point of beginning, containing 6.0 acres, more or less.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
