AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING STOP SIGNS AT CERTAIN STREET INTERSECTIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF JONESBORO; PROVIDING A PENALTY THEREFORE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES (NOTE: PART OF THIS ORDINANCE WAS REPEALED BY ORD-80:1899 ON OCTOBER 6, 1980)

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council, City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful to drive any vehicle into the intersections of the following streets without first bringing such vehicle to a full and complete stop; and stop signs are hereby placed and established at the following designated points:
(1) A stop sign on the North side of Johnson Avenue, ten feet east of the east line of Culberhouse;
(2) A stop sign on the South side of Johnson Avenue, ten feet west of the west line of Culberhouse;
(3) A stop sign on the South side of Work Avenue, ten feet west of the west line of Miller Street;
(4) A stop sign on the South side of Hoover Street, ten feet west of the west line of the West line of Drake Avenue;
(5) A stop sign on the East side of Drake Avenue; ten feet south of the South line of Hoover Street;
(6) A stop sign on the North side of Richmond Avenue; ten feet east of the east line of Church Street;
(7) A stop sign on the South side of Strawn Avenue, ten feet west of the west line of Church Street;
(8) A stop sign on the North side of Melody Lane, ten feet east of the east line of Culberhouse Street;
(9) A stop sign on the West side of Chestnut Street, ten feet north of the north line of Cherry Avenue;
SECTION 2: The chief of police or some person designated by him is hereby directed to place the stop signs herein established at all points above described.
SECTION 3: All persons, firms or corporations operating vehicles upon the streets and avenues above described shall bring such vehicles to a complete stop at any distance not less than ten feet from said intersection so marked by stop sign, nor more than twenty five feet from said intersection.
