A RESOLUTION FOR ENACTING A TEMPORARY HONORARY DESIGNATION OF A PORTION OF CERTAIN CITY STREET IN HONOR OF COUNCILMAN CHARLES FRIERSON

WHEREAS, Councilman Charles Frierson has served the City of Jonesboro with honor, integrity, and dedication, and will be ending his service as a city official at the end of 2022; and
WHEREAS, Councilman Charles Frierson has served as a member of the City Council since 2007, for a culmination of sixteen years of dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and citizens of Jonesboro want to express their appreciation and recognize him for his outstanding service to the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS that:
Section 1: For the period of January 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023, the street indicated herein shall temporarily be named in honor of this official with a street sign placed at the Main Street intersection. This will not alter the current street naming for official purposes.
Section 2: Washington Avenue will have an honorary designation as “Councilman Charles Frierson Avenue”.
