RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH A BUS SYSTEM FROM CITY BUS LINES, INC. AND TO SUSPEND COLLECTION OF A PRIVILEGE TAX ON SUCH OPERATION

WHEREAS, City Bus Lines, Inc. has evidenced its intention to establish a public bus transportation facility within the City of Jonesboro beginning on or about September 3rd, 1963 to be operated and controlled from the present facilities of Union Cab Company; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City that such bus operations be encouraged and promoted so that such a system will be available for public use, and further in view of the fact that Union Cab Company is now paying a substantial occupation tax to the City of Jonesboro;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for such time as may be necessary for City Bus Lines, Inc. to establish a bus system as a profit making operation, the City of Jonesboro shall suspend collection of a privilege tax on such operation and the City Collector is hereby authorized and directed to withhold such collection until further notice.
